Exhibit: Presidential Playthings
Whether you think George W. is a real-life action hero or just doesn't measure up, there's a doll for you. The steely-eyed Naval Aviator George W. Bush figure and the Hail to the Chief Presidential Jack-in-the-Box are among the presidential dolls—some reverent, some satirical—to come out in the past year. Most were created by first-time toy makers trying to make a profit, and often, a point. Designer Sebastian Andreatta says his Bush voodoo doll is a great "frustration relief tool," while TrueMajority's Ben Cohen says his Pants on Fire doll is intended to "make sure that Americans never forget [Bush's] lies."
